Company History

  • 2000:  infotex spun off of Bucheri McCarty & Metz, a regional accounting firm based in Indiana.
  • 2002:  We became the first Tier 3 sponsor of Purdue University's Center for Education and Research on Information Assurance and Security (CERIAS).
  • 2003:  We purchased Paradigm Shift Security, a Kansas-City based Information Security Firm, and acquired their intellectual capital related to Intrusion Detection systems.
  • 2004:  infotex founded bleedingsnort.com.
  • 2005:  We became a Preferred Service Provider of the Community Bankers Association of Indiana.  In addition, we became one of the first MSSP's to offer an Event Log Management System called the LogMon Compliance System.
  • 2006:  We began offering our Change Detection service to our MSSP clients.
  • 2007:  With the merger [IBA and CBAI], we became a Preferred Service Provider of the Indiana Bankers Association.
  • 2007:  bleedingsnort.com changed to bleedingthreats.net.  Matt migrated the bleedingsnort concept to emergingthreats.net.  This snort-signature clearinghouse has become a defacto-standard in open-source signatures.
  • 2008:  infotex began offering Web Application Security Reviews.
  • 2009:  We entered the FFIEC's Vendor Examination Program. We encourage MSSP clients to order the report from their federal regulators.
  • 2010:  We became a member of the Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP) community.  In addition, infotex created Vigilize and established a social media presence.
  • 2011:  We created one of the first Wireless Banking risk assessments long before the June 2011 Supplement to the 2005 FFIEC Authentication Guidance.
  • 2011:  We released our new ELM Visualization Interface that allows Clients to view event logs graphically.
